For many adults with ADHD, life can feel like managing a dozen screens at once. A comprehensive evaluation helps bring clarity to the chaos.

If you’re an adult wondering whether you might have ADHD, you’re not alone—and you’re not late. Many people reach adulthood without realizing that longstanding challenges with focus, organization, or follow-through may point to undiagnosed Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

I specialize in comprehensive ADHD evaluations for adults, conducted entirely via secure telehealth. This post will walk you through what to expect from the evaluation process and how remote ADHD testing works—so you can feel confident and informed before taking the first step.

Why Seek an Adult ADHD Evaluation?

Adults seek ADHD assessments for many reasons. You may have struggled with attention for years, or feel like you’re constantly working harder than everyone else just to stay afloat. Maybe a child was recently diagnosed, and you’re starting to connect the dots in your own life. Or maybe you’re simply looking for clarity and validation.

Common reasons adults pursue an ADHD evaluation include:

  • Chronic procrastination or difficulty finishing tasks

  • Frequent forgetfulness, even with reminders or alarms

  • Trouble staying organized or managing time

  • Emotional impulsivity, frustration, or low frustration tolerance

  • A history of underachievement despite high potential

  • Difficulty maintaining focus in conversations or during tasks

  • Long-standing difficulties in academic, work, or relationship settings

A good evaluation doesn’t just determine whether or not you meet criteria for ADHD. It also helps uncover how symptoms affect your life—and what to do next.

Remote ADHD evaluations offer a structured, focused space to better understand attention, memory, and executive functioning.

How the ADHD Evaluation Process Works

Here's a step-by-step overview of what to expect when you begin an ADHD assessment with me. The entire process is conducted remotely using HIPAA-secure tools.

1. Intake and Screening Forms

You’ll complete structured intake documents through a secure client portal. These forms help clarify your concerns, symptom history, and life context. They also include validated screening tools for ADHD, mood, and anxiety symptoms.

2. Clinical Interview via Telehealth

We’ll meet via video for a structured diagnostic interview focused on ADHD symptom history, childhood patterns, executive functioning, and the impact on your life. This is not an informal conversation—it’s a thorough and respectful diagnostic process.

3. Standardized Self-Report and Executive Function Testing

You’ll complete digital questionnaires that assess core ADHD symptoms and executive functioning (e.g., planning, memory, impulse control). These instruments are nationally validated and scored using standardized platforms.

4. Performance-Based Attention Testing

You’ll complete a remote task that objectively measures sustained attention, impulsivity, and consistency of response. This adds an additional “line of evidence” to support—or rule out—ADHD diagnosis.

5. Comprehensive Report + Optional Feedback

You’ll receive a detailed written report that includes:

  • A summary of findings

  • Diagnostic impressions

  • Individualized recommendations

  • Suggestions for next steps, referrals, or accommodations if applicable

A feedback session is available if you’d like to review the report together and ask questions.
