I offer psychotherapies which fall broadly under the category of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a philosophy of treatment which holds that both thoughts and behaviors have a large impact on our mood. I have particular expertise in treating anxiety, PTSD, and trauma-related symptoms utilizing gold standard evidence-based psychotherapies that utilize this framework.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT is a psychotherapy which works to increase overall psychological flexibility, utilizing mindfulness and acceptance to reconnect with what's important and what we value in our lives.
-
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): CPT is a gold standard treatment for PTSD/trauma-related symptoms that addresses the ways that a trauma has caused our viewpoints or beliefs about ourselves, others, and the world to change, keeping us stuck and impeding our natural recovery. Themes addressed include safety, trust, power/control, esteem, and intimacy/meaning of the traumatic event.
-
Prolonged Exposure (PE): The other gold standard treatment for PTSD/trauma-related symptoms is PE, which teaches individuals to gradually approach trauma-related memories, feelings, and situations to re-engage in activities we have been avoiding and to reduce the ways that trauma-related memories continue to "kick us around."
Trauma-Focused Couples Therapy
Video, evening hours that fit your schedule
Insurance Accepted: Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare
$200/1 hour self-pay rate
I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Conjoint Therapy (CBCT) for PTSD and trauma as my primary framework for couples therapy. CBCT addresses both PTSD/trauma-related symptoms and associated relationship difficulties for couples in which one or both partners have experienced trauma. In these sessions, together, we'll work to reduce how much space PTSD is taking up in your relationship and get back to the things you value in your relationship. Ready to get started? A Note About Insurance
Currently, I am able to take Aetna, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare insurance in Texas. In Kansas, I am currently self-pay only. For those with an insurance policy I am not in network with that provides full or partial out of network benefits, I am happy to provide a superbill or billing statement that you can use to submit for reimbursement; verify your coverage with your insurance provider.
